Human a2-Antiplasmin, also known as Human α2-Plasmin Inhibitor, is a plasma glycoprotein that is a member of the SERPIN family of proteinase inhibitors. Human a2-Antiplasmin is the primary fast-acting inhibitor of plasmin in vivo, but has also been reported to inhibit other enzymes such as trypsin, elastase and Human Activated Protein C. Human a2-Antiplasmin is purified from normal human plasma using immunoaffinity and ion-exchange chromatography. Purified Human a2-Antiplasmin activity is determined by titration with purified plasmin.
